I am committed to creating spaces where young people, especially girls and youth of color, can thrive through research, mentorship, and community engagement. Whether serving as Vice President of GRL-PWR Inc., supporting undergraduates through Diversifying Black Excellence in School Psychology (D.B.E.S.P.), or leading youth-focused initiatives at the University of Florida, my work consistently centers on amplifying voices and building pathways for growth. Each project and partnership reflects a deeper mission: to empower the next generation to lead, heal, and reimagine what’s possible.
RESEARCH
My research is grounded in community, care, and co-creation. I center the experiences of Black girls and youth of color through participatory and community-based methods. The projects below highlight key moments that have shaped my commitment to justice-driven scholarship and reflect the values that continue to guide my work.
Research Consultant
Black Girlhood Collaborative (University of Florida)
Currently, I support the Black Girlhood Collaborative, a research-practice partnership that co-creates culturally responsive, community-based interventions with Black girls. This work brings together educators, researchers, and community members to reimagine schooling and center joy, resistance, and wellness in Black girls’ lived experiences.
Graduate Co-Leader
Homeplace Research Collective (University of Florida)
During my graduate training, I served as a graduate assistant and co-leader of the Homeplace Research Collective, a qualitative research group focused on Black feminist theory, healing-centered engagement, and participatory action research. I supported projects that emphasized reflection, collaboration, and institutional transformation while working alongside peers, faculty, and community partners.

National Science Foundation Research Experience for Undergraduates (NSF REU):
Treatment-Related Research for Youth with Social, Emotional, and Behavioral Problems (Ohio University)
As a junior at Spelman College, I participated in the NSF REU at Ohio University’s Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, where I explored health disparities through hands-on research. During the eight-week program, I worked on an independent project that helped me deepen my understanding of research and quantitative methods. This experience sparked my passion for community-centered inquiry and laid the foundation for my future in school psychology.
